Agreement to Terms

By using CodeCord's Discord bot and website (https://codecord.xyz) (collectively referred to as the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our Service.

The Service consists of both the Discord bot that can be added to Discord servers and the website at https://codecord.xyz which provides the dashboard, documentation, and configuration interface. All web traffic is encrypted using HTTPS for your security.

Description of Service

CodeCord is a Discord bot that provides code-related utilities including:

  • Code formatting and syntax highlighting with smart language detection
  • Code snippet sharing with version control and collaborative improvements
  • GitHub repository integration including:
    • Repository statistics tracking (PRs, issues, stars)
    • Customizable event notifications
    • Personal notifications for assignments and reviews
  • Regular expression tools:
    • Pattern testing and validation
    • Match highlighting
    • Server-wide pattern library
  • Thread management utilities:
    • Automatic thread creation for code discussions
    • Thread renaming and organization
    • Thread archival management

Use License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our Service in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to violate any laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Sell, resell, or exploit any part of the Service
  • Copy or modify the bot's software
  • Use the Service to transmit malicious code or conduct malicious activities

Service Rules

When using our Service, you agree to:

  • Follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
  • Use the bot's commands responsibly and not spam them
  • Not abuse or exploit any features of the bot
  • Not use the bot to harass, bully, or harm others
  • Report any bugs or vulnerabilities to us

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CodeCord and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall CodeCord be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangibles.

Service Modifications

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue any part of the Service without notice
  • Limit or restrict access to the Service for any user
  • Update these Terms at any time
  • Remove the bot from any Discord server

GitHub Webhook Data

When using our GitHub integration features and webhooks, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for configuring which data is sent through webhooks
  • You must review and configure GitHub webhook settings to prevent exposure of sensitive data
  • We process webhook data to deliver notifications but do not store the content of webhook payloads
  • We only store configuration settings related to webhook processing (such as notification preferences and channel mappings)
  • We are not liable for any exposure of sensitive information sent through webhooks
  • You should follow security best practices when configuring webhooks and never include sensitive data such as:
    • Authentication tokens or credentials
    • Private keys or secrets
    • Personal or confidential information
    • Internal security-related discussions
  • You are responsible for regularly auditing your webhook configurations and the data being sent

Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with Discord and GitHub. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies:

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to our Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason including, without limitation, breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
